Beauty Tips

Vanessa Friday, October 7, 2011

Carrots are very high in vitamin A which will strengthen your tissues and reduce sebum production. Eating more foods with vitamin A and Zinc which is an antibacterial agent can help you avoid breakouts.

If you notice a pimple and need to control it you can use Visine drops on the area to lessen the redness and inflammation.

For shiny hair start by mashing some strawberries and a little mayonnaise (1tbsp), then massage mixture into wet clean hair. Then place shower cap, after 10min wash and then shampoo as usual.

Find ways to calm yourself, when you are stressed your body will react with hormones and this can cause breakouts and other unpleasant reactions in your body not to mention you health emotional and physical. Try meditation or the gym maybe yoga.

And remember it's alway important to take time for yourself, get some rest and enjoy life.

My Favorite Beauty Tips

Vanessa Tuesday, August 16, 2011 , ,

1. I can not stress enough how important it is to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, with this you will flush toxins out of your body.

2 . Change your pillow case regularly. This will help avoid the oil from your face to accumulate and cause breakouts.

3 . Create a paste by mashing up a handful of red grapes and add 2 tablespoons of white flour, then apply the mask and leave it on for aprox 10 minutes. This mask helps with the appearance of fatigued skin.

4. To heal pimples apply tea tree oil with a cotton swab directly onto the pimple.

5 . If you wake up and have puffy eyes you can store steeped chamomile tea bags on the freezer and put them on your eyes, this will help diminish the bags under your eyes.

6 . Almond oil works great as a cuticle oil, apply with a massage at night.

7 . Natural yoghurt with oat meal, mix two tablespoons of yogurt with oatmeal as face mask, is an amazing mask.

8 . For soft hands, mix 1 tablespoon of olive oil with sugar and give your hands a massage, leave 5 minutes and rinse well, this will exfoliate and nourish your skin.

9 . A relaxing bath, warm water and a hand full of powder milk, some lavender salts and enjoy!.

10 . Squish 1 capsule of vitamin E and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, massage your feet after that put your feet over a pillow for about 15 to 20 minutes then rinse well. This will help with tired feet and will keep your them soft.

MAC Wonder Woman Treats and more

Vanessa Wednesday, March 9, 2011 , , ,

Hi dolls, finally bought some treats from the Wonder Woman collection, I picked up Defiance Eyeshadow quad and Marquis 'D lipstick, I've read mixed reviews on both but I just fell in love with all the shades, everything I picked complements my skin tone. While I was there also picked two more lipsticks, Viva Glam Gaga and Cosmo.

Here are the pictures.

Some people seem to have a problem with the packaging for the WW collection but I just think is fun and bold, comic style is the only right way they could portray Wonder Woman.

The Defiance quad is actually lovely on all skin tones. The only shade that could be a tad too light for deeper skin tones would be the Defiance, which is an iridescent white pink, but even that would look nice as a highlight color under the brow. :)

Marquis 'D lipstick is a sandy cream peach (Lustre finish)
Viva Glam Gaga is a blue based pink, very pigmented and creamy (Lustre finish)
Cosmo lipstick is a neutral pink with soft brown undertones (Amplified Creme finish)

Overall I'm really happy with all, if you want a swatch or a full review let me know in the comment section :)

January and February Favorites

Vanessa Wednesday, March 2, 2011 , , , , , , ,

These are my favorite products lately, have you tried any of them?, what do you think about them? :
Aveeno- Intense Relief Hand Cream:

It claims: Lasts through hand washing, moisturizes for 24 hours non greasy.

My thoughts: I really liked this hand cream, during winter time my skin was extremely dry, even more because I wash my hands constantly, when this hand cream came to my attention I decided to give it a try and it was worth it, will buy this product again and again and again, well I think you all get the point. :)

Clean & Clear Advantage acne spot treatment:

It claims: Oil Free, Salicylic Acid Medication for acne treatment, won't overdry skin.

My thoughts: I've noticed that it really decreases the size of pimples pretty fast and reduce their redness, it didn't dry out my skin. Keep in mind this is a spot treatment, I've had some break outs lately and this had help me keep things under control.

EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint:

It claims: Long-lasting moisture, Smoothes on clear, New smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips, Gluten-free, Paraben-free, Petrolatum-free, Phthalate-free

My thoughts: I use it every night before I go to bed and every day before I put some lipstick or just by it self. It doesn't feel too greasy, I love the design because it makes it easier for me to quickly put it on.I do feel my lips softer, but for people with severely chapped lips I would recommend something stronger. I love the minty feel and will continue to repurchase.

Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup finish:

It claims: Matte hold on oily skin, weightless mist that holds foundation, eye shadow, blush and concealer Oil Free and Paraben Free.

My thoughts: This product does help my makeup last longer but not all day, the reason it's part of my favorites is because it does keep me looking matte and for the amount of time I need to have my makeup on It does the trick.

Sigma Make me Crazy Brush set:

It claims: 12 brush kit now comes in beautiful colors and inside a durable and multifunctional container! Besides protecting your brushes, this exclusive container transforms into 2 stylish brush holders!

My thoughts: This is great if you want to expand a brush collection, it has 12 brushes and the case is great for travel because it's a hard case. I love purple so when I put my makeup on it makes me happy just by how cute they are. :) I'll do a review of them in another post.

Estée Lauder Soft Duo Bronzer in Amber Bronze rich:

It claims: The shades blend brilliantly to give face, shoulders and décolletage a seductive bronze look. Unique oil-control complex keeps skin shine free and comfortable.

My Thoughts: I have it in Amber Bronze Rich 04 shade and I love it because it blends easily, it's not shimmery and gives my face a very natural glow.

Clean & Clear deep cleaning astringent:

It claims: Formulated to be gentle enough for sensitive skin while still providing a deep clean. It works deep down to the pores and leaves a refreshingly clean feeling. Plus, it contains a milder yet effective level of pimple fighting medicine to help treat and help prevent acne.

My Thoughts: I just love this product, it really works as an astringent, gives you a refreshing feeling and prevent breakouts. I use this at night after cleansing and my skin never turns red.

Garnier Roll-on Anti dark circles:

It claims: Moisturizing eye care and a cooling roller ball refreshes & hydrates tired looking eyes, with mineral pigments instantly covers dark circles

My Thoughts: The reason I like this product is because it's tinted and acts as a concealer. The formula is cooling and feels great, it's easy to apply and for me has made a difference when I look tired .

Too Faced Glamour To Go 2 Pocket Palette:

It claims: Too Faced's Glamour to Go 2 lets you layer your look for refined results. It takes the best-selling Glamour to Go set and adds on four new eyeshadow shades as well as a Glam To Go blush. Eight silky shadows, four juicy lip shades, and one beautiful blush are packed up and perfectly coordinated—so you can get your glam-on-the-go!

My Thoughts: The price is amazing I bought this palette at Ulta and was only $10, it's cute and compact, love the colors because I love neutrals for an everyday look.

China Glaze - Caribbean Temptation:

My Thoughts: This color is a great duochrome shade. It dries quickly and I only need two coats for it to look perfect. Cool toned Fushia shimmer with purple flash I love to have this on my toes.

Disclaimer: None of the products or items mentioned were given to me for free. None of the companies mentioned are paying me. All opinions are my own.

NOTD - Lilacism by Essie

Vanessa Monday, January 24, 2011 , ,

Hi Dolls!!

This is my first Nail Of The Day. Of many more to come.
On my nails: Lilacism by Essie (from the Art of Spring 2010 Collection )

On my opinion this purple pastel crème is a beautiful color, the pics are true to color. The application was a little streaky but for this gorgeous blue- toned purple I won't complain.

Two coats with a top coat (Seche Vite)

I've been using this polish for almost a week now and it just wear off a little on the tips, I belive because of constantly typing on the computer. Remember I did add a layer of Seche Vite top coat to the polish.

Thanks for reading.

MAC Blushcreme Lady Blush Review

Vanessa Saturday, January 1, 2011 , ,

MAC - Lady Blush

I believe it looks natural and more wearable that other blushes I have. This Blush creme blends perfectly, no matter if you use your fingers or a brush you'll have a lovely rosy flush. This would be my everyday go to blush since I'm very pleased on the texture and application of this product.

It's important to know :
  • With this product A little goes a long way.
  • If you apply this with your fingers be careful to have extra clean hands since it's a creme you don't want it to have dust or any other stuff in it.
I would definitely repurchase this product.
